Dear New Client,
Thank you for coming to check me out!
As well, thank you for coming this far to learn more about me. I want you to know I do things a bit differently. That is why I’ve written this for you. I want you to understand why I have things set up the way I do. I’ve done all of this for you.
You see, success for me isn’t just about creating great hair. That’s subjective. Success for me is seeing you love your hair! I want to get to know you and your vision. I want to make sure your experience with me is a positive one, one that leaves you feeling great!
That is why I now offer the flexibility of Destination & In-Salon Offerings (In-Salon info & menu are currently sent with your welcome email). As well, I have created custom consultations and on-boarding forms tailored to the service I am offering. That is also why I require color consulting once we meet and sometimes after we have worked together on your hair at least one time. It all comes down to communication. It really is a big deal. Without it, we got nothing. For me, it is just as important if not more important than the service being performed. When you choose me as your hairstylist, you are investing in me. I want to take time to make sure we sit down face to face and get know each other before touching your hair with any tools or chemicals.
Giving you great hair is about so much more than the hair. My service experience is a place for you to be heard and validated beyond your hair. That’s why I created my consultation process. To ensure that we are not only hearing each other, but understanding each other. That we are connecting. I want you to be able to understand my process and approach and why I give the suggestions I do, and for you to feel comfortable to voice what you are thinking. I want you to feel relaxed and comfortable with how we will move forward. My consultation process allows me to give you my focused time and attention. Time to understand who you are and how you communicate. It’s important to me that this communication part is done right, that’s why I take so much more than your hair into consideration. Doing this gives me a clearer look into who you are, what you are about, and what you are wanting, or not wanting for that matter. It allows me to customize your hair directly for you.
Whether we are seeing each other On-Location or In-Salon, you may have noticed that my first time appointments/big change appointments(or hair types, lengths, or densities that take more time in general) take a bit more time, and also cost a bit more. Let me explain why. In your first appointment, I have built in extra time to factor in whatever hair you have at the moment. Many times some corrective or conversion work is required, which can be time consuming, but key in giving you great hair. Also, that extra time is insurance for your appointment. Because we will have just met , that time allows me to interact with you more while performing your service. Future appointments may be less, but as listed above there are times when any appointment(not just your first) would need additional time, product, etc. In this case, you will know and now have an understanding as to why and how the process works. You can expect these conversations between the two of us so you have a clear understanding of how to book services and properly prepare for your unique hair needs.
I am always happy to tweak or trim a bit here or there to make it just right.
I want to carve your hair into a work of art that you can get the most out of and enjoy how it changes and transforms into new soft shapes as it grows out. I want to paint soft lived-in color that looks beachy as it grows out. I want to style your hair with my hands and show you how you can do it too. Imagine a bomb cut that you can air-dry or diffuse and it looks soo good! I want to take care of the hopeless romantic boho bride that dreams of getting married in the woods, on a mountain, or by the water. Being creative and sharing my love for doing hair with others who find value in what I offer is the best!!
*Most of all…. I want to make sure that when we end our hair appointment, you leave your appointment having had a great experience (a fun but relaxing one), feeling in love with your hair, and feeling like you truly can embrace your natural texture whether it’s straight, wavy, curly, kinky, and be that baddie your supposed to be!!! You deserve all the above!!*
Having my hair cut differently than what I had been used to in the past and prioritizing how I receive it, changed me forever! Even as a professional. That is why I have to share it with you! You deserve to not have to fight against what you were born with. You deserve to be able to choose.
If you are interested in a color visit, you can request a color consultation In-Salon or Virtually, you may also add it on with your cutting or styling appointment. This is offered at an additional cost and may be a separate consultation from the booked service that day. As we continue to work with each other, and have had a color history together, this could be offered as a virtual appointment for transformations too. This process is beneficial to someone who may be a bit nervous to commit to having me color their hair, but it also is set up this way to help me be prepared with proper supplies for your color appointment date, as well as to possibly save you money overall. When I am able to properly assess your hair, I then can see your hair and hear what you are wanting to achieve. I can test the hair if needed but more importantly I can create a plan for your hair so I can help guide you to what appointment you will need to book.
I hope this helped you get to know me a bit more and understand why I have the process set up the way I do. After many years of rushing consultations and trying to understand what a client wants in less than 5 minutes, I have found what works best for me and my clients. Which is true connection and communication. I know this will not be for everyone, it may not resound with you, and that is okay.
But in the case that this is what you have been looking for , well let me tell you, I’m excited to meet you!
Your Personal Destination Hairstylist,
